An inversion process is then applied and a multi-layer soil model is obtained. By means of the Wenner probe, the soil apparent resistivity as a function of the separation between the electrodes is measured. The Wenner arrangement will be considered here. The simplest method is VES, which only explores the resistivity versus the depth by using a probe. The scheme is completed with the spatial variation of resistivity, which the 3DVES deals with. The variation of the electrical resistivity in a vertical ground plane is the subject matter of the bi-dimensional VES (2DVES). In this category, the unidimensional Vertical Electrical Sounding (1DVES) can be found, that from now on will be referred to as VES, which aims to find the variation of electrical resistivity with depth, on the assumption that this remains laterally constant. The Electrical Resistivity Survey method is one of the methods used in geophysical explorations.
